It was after 2am when I finally reached my hotel at the Palau International Coral Reef Center not very far from the airport. There wasn’t much to see around in the dark night as I drove past the town and villages but a splendid beautiful morning with warm tropical sunshine and fresh air laden with the salt sprays across the ocean greeted me with cheers to start a good week. Since I arrived late at night most of the shops in the area had closed and the hotel had not stocked any bottled water for me so the first thing I began looking for as I woke up was water and internet connection. It wasn’t as difficult as I thought since the gift shop just downstairs near the reception had all the necessary stock I needed. Then later I met Ofa, my colleague also staying in the same hotel to discuss the meetings and discussions we may be having today. We are scheduled to meet King Sam one of the advisers of Minister for Environment in Palau and work out our schedules for the rest of the week.
